We produce fruits and vegetables from May through November.
We grow: salad greens, tomatoes, potatoes, peppers, cucumbers, onions, squash, pumpkins, corn, swiss chard, kale, herbs, arugula, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, mizuna, mustard greens, carrots, rhubarb, nettles, radishes, leeks, peas, red currants, black currants, raspberries, strawberries, blackberries, boysenberries, figs, and more!
All of our products are grown naturally without the use of pesticides or herbicides.
Watch for seasonal blooms at Glenwood Meats and at the Oak Bay Night Market. We grow a range of annuals and perennials, which are sold either as loose "farm bunches" or arranged in bouquets.
Bees and Honey
Our apiary is located primarily at Elk View Acres, where the bees have access to many nectar crops throughout the year. We will be providing honey seasonally to the markets.
We also have several hives that can be rented monthly for pollination purposes (this includes a minimum of two hive checks per month, which you are welcome to observe). The service is available for Cobble Hill, Cowichan Bay, Mill Bay, and Duncan. Please email to make inquiries about hive availability for 2019.
We have now purchased a honey extractor, which is available for rent as well. We are happy to teach you how to extract your honey!
Julia had her first taste of beekeeping 12 years ago in New Zealand. Since then she has taken beekeeping courses in Brazil and Canada, and has had her own hives for the past several years. In 2018 she successfully completed the Bee Master course and examination in advanced beekeeping with the Ministry of Agriculture.
We have an industrial juicer that can process 100L/hour.
We are located in Cobble Hill, but if you have a large amount of fruit to process, we can come to you. You will need to provide your own containers for freezing (we don’t pasteurize). We have the means to wash and crush the fruit (customer does the washing and sorting).
Price: $1/L if you can come to us; if we come to you there will be an extra fee + milage
We’re set to have a bumper crop of apples and pears this coming year, so let us know of your interest early to guarantee your spot (firstname.lastname@example.org).
